Hi there! I’m Lydia, a pianist, educator, and collaborative musician based in Pittsburgh’s South Hills. I hold a degree in Piano Performance from Florida State University and a master’s degree in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and I bring more than two decades of teaching and performing experience to my work.
I believe learning piano should be both rewarding and enjoyable. My teaching combines a strong foundation in technique and musicianship with space for curiosity, creativity, and each student’s musical interests. Whether I’m working with a young beginner, an adult returning to the piano, or an advanced student, I aim to create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking on challenges, and growing at their own pace. My background in early childhood music, arts education, and accessible programming continues to shape my thoughtful, individualized approach.
Alongside teaching, I enjoy collaborating with vocalists, instrumentalists, and choirs, as well as providing piano music for services and special events. My musical experience includes collaborative piano work at Florida State University and the Aspen Music Festival.
Outside of music, I’m a mother of two and a yoga and wellness educator. Across these parts of my life, I’m drawn to helping people learn, express themselves, and connect.
